Lawyers Who “Get It”

Lawyers Who “Get It”

Our lives are wonderfully rich, and we all want to live life to the fullest. We enjoy our work and community service, our families and loved ones, and new experiences that move and inspire us.

What we love becomes what we want to protect — the important people in our lives, the assets we’ve worked so hard to accumulate, and the priceless memories, dreams and values. Our services are designed to provide you and your loved ones with this protection both efficiently and easily.

Our unique approach:

1 – We do everything on a flat-fee basis.

People like certainty in their lives. And they don’t like unexpected bills from lawyers. For these reasons, we alleviate any unpleasant surprises by working on a flat-fee basis. We speak openly about our fees up front, and our clients work with us to choose their own fees. Our clients are a lot happier with this arrangement, and so are we.

2 – Our team makes it easy for you.

We know firsthand how busy families can be, and that it can be a real struggle to put your own needs ahead of your children, your family, your clients and your customers. The reality is that if something like estate planning can be put off, it will be, sometimes indefinitely.

Many people are embarassed to admit they haven’t focused much attention on their estate planning. It’s understandable why they haven’t, but the fact of the matter is that no one knows when the unexpected might happen. While it’s unlikely something will happen to you prematurely, it’s possible. And if you don’t have a plan, or don’t have a plan that works for your needs, the effect of a premature disability or death could be absolutely disastrous.

For these reasons, we make it as easy for you as possible. Typically, we complete a plan in 2 to 3 meetings over the course of 4 to 8 weeks. We offer complete trust funding services and offer a yearly plan review so you can have total peace of mind that your plan will work when you need it.

3 – We recognize that estate planning is about much more than just transferring money and property; it’s about passing on your most valuable intangible gifts: Your life’s lessons, your hopes and dreams for your loved ones, and your family heritage.

What would it be worth to you to read a handwritten letter from your departed parent or grandparent — or even hear his or her own recorded voice — telling you how much you were loved as a child, or what life lessons he or she most wanted to pass on to you, or what his or her dreams for you were?Traditional estate planning focuses on money and property and for the most part stops there. But we all have a larger wealth that goes beyond money and property. It includes the wisdom we’ve acquired, the insights that have allowed us to make better decisions as we get older, and our family heritage. When you add that in with the money and property, then you pass along real wealth.

Dealing With Loss

Dealing With Loss

A family needs love and compassion to face and overcome the unique set of challenges that accompany the death of a loved one. Manasan Law Group understands this and therefore provides a full-service approach to probate or trust administration.

Our objective during this difficult time is to minimize headaches, transfer assets as quickly as possible, ensure that the right choices are made at every crossroad and see to it that all legal requirements are satisfied within their legal deadlines.

We begin by preparing a comprehensive trust administration memorandum that instructs the successor trustee for his or her duties as the new trustee. We stand ready to assist the family in every way to resolve property transfers and other loose ends that can exist after a death.

We especially seek to bring families together and stand with them through a crisis that can often pull a family apart.

Solutions for All Families

Solutions for All Families

We hope that trustees, executors and beneficiaries will always see eye to eye but we know that is not always the case. If a problem should arise, however, we are able to solve conflicts by opening lines of communication, even if they have been closed for many years.

Some litigators perpetuate family discord but we strive to resolve any and all family conflict. We use our substantial creative skills to design plans that address all of the concerns of conflicting family members.

Whenever possible, we create estate plans that are designed to address any potential conflict before it arises. For example, in any blended family – such as a second marriage situation – there is often a potential for conflict between the second spouse and the children from a prior marriage. We take this into account when planning and prepare accordingly to avert any such conflict.

Estate Planning Worksheets

Because we know your time is valuable, we’ve arranged to make it as easy as possible to get started. Once your consultation is set, we will send you a new client package by mail, which we ask you to fill out and return to us at least three days in advance of your consultation. Included in this package will be one of the following client worksheets. This information will give us an important general overview of your current assets and estate planning. We’ll review this before your meeting, so none of our face-to-face time is wasted. That way, every minute you spend with us will be focused on meeting your estate planning needs.
